The Song of the Reed

14th July 2026

This evocative music played on the reed flute has been shared with us by a student of Recognition in Kuwait, with these lines from Rumi. It is the sound of longing for Union and calls us to remember who we are in our Essence and the Oneness that connects us all. In these times of separation, we need to hear the longing of the Heart and follow its call. This is especially poignant coming from a land that is being torn apart by division.

Listen to the reed and the tale it tells, how it sings of separation:
“Ever since they cut me from the reed bed,
my lament has caused men and women to weep.
I seek a heart torn open,
so that I may share the pain of this longing.”
Whoever is parted from their Source longs to return to the time of Union.

Listen to the sound of the longing of the heart and remember your Self and the essence of those with whom we share this world.
