A Single Tree

9th October 2026

In this last year, so many of our forests have been devastated by fires with the effects of drought and the advance of climate-change.

Recently, walking through one of these forests, I was touched in wonder by the miracle of a tree continuing to live, grow and rise up, even when scorched, broken and seemingly dead on the outside. Rising up to the light, remaining connected to the channels of support and a strong inner core continues to source the Tree’s life, and indeed our own.

This evocative poem landed in my inbox not long after I had this encounter. Let its invitation draw you closer within and to our forest family who sustain us and all living Beings.
